Same RX at any age. : The standard treatment for gallstone removal is to remove where they are formed: the gallbladder. Other means may be used to dissolve gallstones, such as pills, lithotripsy, or even "gallbladder flushes": these all fail to permanently solve the problem, and, in the case of the "flush", may be dangerous if stones get stuck in the bile duct. Thankfully, surgery is usually out-pt, safe, and easy.

Surgery: Surgery is the only viable treatment for gallstones. However, if one doesn't have symptoms from gallstones surgery may never be needed. Risk of surgery has to be weighed against the potential benefit to the patient.

Same as anyone else: Remove gb and the stones. Age itself has no effect on surgery risk. It is the diseases like high bp, heart disease diabetes etc., that go along with age that affect the risk to performing surgery. If the patient has gallstones and symptoms consistent with them, then surgery to remove gb is the only true cure. Drainage tube put in gb may buy time to get person healthier and allow surgery.
