Can albuterol be used for clearing nasal congestion related to the common cold?

No: Albuterol is a bronchodilator, meaning that it is a medication which causes smooth muscles in the lungs to relax, helping to relieve the bronchospasm associated with wheezing and asthma. It does not work on the nose. Use saline nasal spray to clear out nasal congestion.
