Sorry can't compete: If the athlete is taking illegal drugs, the blood and urine tests will disqualify the person. There are a few exceptions for medically necessary meds.

Olympic trials: Get professional advice about this. If an athlete must have a medication, then a doctor's note and professional examination will help. It the need is questionable, then competition will be thwarted.
