In anyone with UCL: Tear of the mcp joint of the thumb) 2 prior procedures with pain perhaps the stability that was needed just oculdnt be attended. I assume base means the mp jointnad not thereal "base: as in the cmc joint. Damage to the joint from the orignal traumatic episode may preclude complete relief of pain. With good stability then it deends upon how much pain before fusion but hard to rec at age 19.
