Yes: "stones" in the kidney are not usually the large "staghorn" type people think of. You usually have to use a strainer or tea bag to filter your urine in order to capture the "stones." therefore, you certainly may have kidney stones. Until they pass, the pain may be there. There are other things which may cause pain in addition to stones, so make sure that is what you have.
