Tendon/Meniscal: Have you seen a doc for this? It could be a number of things depending on the history (for eg. Was there any trauma? Any fevers/rash? Does the knee ever lock? Is there any pain?). Most likely a tendon or meniscal injury. The best imaging technique is an mri, however a physical exam may reveal the diagnosis.
