At what age do they stop doing pelvic exams? hysterectomy

No age: It is common for women to believe that a pap smear is the only reason for a pelvic exam and that can stop once a hysterectomy is done. The cervix and uterus are not the only things evaluated during a pelvic exam. Specifically after hysterectomy, i'm more inclined to evaluate for loss of pelvic support and look for visual abnormalities.

Pelvic Exams and Age: There is no recommended age to stop pelvic exams, because if you have a uterus and ovaries, you can have problems at any age even if you had a hysterectomy. However, routine exams are not usually done in women after age 70 and 75 because women refuse and due to possible discomfort and inconvenience. If you are sexually active and even if you had a hysterectomy, a pelvic exam is advised.

For life: We recommend that pelvic exams be done for your entire life. Sometimes pap smears are not necessary later in life, though. The frequency of both should be recommended by your gynecologist based upon your individual history.
