My husband had prostate seed implant on january 10th of this year and having major problems & been wearing a cathedral every since then. what is wrong?

Urine retention: He may have either a large obstructing prostate gland which may require additional treatment, or radiation-related scarring of the outlet and bladder neck related to seed placement, or a weakened somewhat flaccid bladder. Swelling of prostate: When seeds are implanted in the prostate to kill the cancer, the prostate swells when the cancer dies.The swelling of prostate can cause blockage of the tube ( urethra) which passes through the prostate.It causes stoppage of urine.Generally it lasts from 3 to 6 months. During this period it is preferable to do self catheterization., take rapaflo (silodosin) and naproxin. Rarely surgery may be necessary.
