Bump up the Claritin (loratadine): Environmental allergies cause nasal mucosa to swell -->increases surface area exposed to air--> causes the tissue to dry out. The dry tissue cracks easily and then bleeds like crazy. (there's lots of blood in mucosal tissue) you would be better off treating your allergies with a nasal steroid spray, +/-stronger antihistamine= zyrtec, allegra. Also check out www.Aaaai.Org for pollen levels.

Possibly: There is an association of bleeding from the nose in some patients with allergy if there is enoufgh irritation of the nasal linings. There are other causes that should be discussed as well, though.
