Household changes: When kids suddenly act younger than they are, it frequently means they are stressed somehow. Bringing a new person into the house is a good example. Their behavior returns to age-level quickly as they adjust to the change. Also meds like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cause kids to sleep deeply enough to lose control. Check with doctor, however, as urinary tract infections and physical/sexual abuse can also be a cause.

A few possibilities: Something you can fix right away as the cause would be urinary tract infection. You need to have his urine tested at your doctor's office. Other possibilities are: 1. Is there any circumstance that caused stress in your son? Such as violent argument between parents? 2. For some reason did he drink excessive amount of fluid last 2 evenings? 3. Some systemic illness, such as stomach flu?
