Will sunscreen prevent me from getting a tan?

No: You will still tan through sunscreen. It is important that you use a good sunscreen with high spf and particularly on containing zink oxide that will block harmful rays of the sun - uva and uvb. It is also important that you reapply if outside for extended periods of time. This will reduce your risk of burning and skin cancer but you will still gradually increase melanin and tan.

Sunscreen : Sunscreen will not stop all if the ultraviolet radiation from reaching into the skin. The uvr that gets through will lead to tanning and sometimes burning . Remember there is no such thing as a safe tan.
