Jaw pain: The most common cause of pain in the jaw is just that and it's called temporomandibular joint pain or tmj. The pain is most likely coming from your jaw joints. It could be one side or the other. Often, patients with this problem are gum chewers or they eat foods that require a lot of chewing. Sometimes, patients will grind their teeth either during the day or at night, called bruxism.
