A member asked:

Can you get rhabdo from the use of valtrx? and if so what alternative medicine can you use? can rhabdo be completely cured?

Unlikely: Rhabdo from Valtrex (valacyclovir) has not been clinically known as adverse side effect. Rhabdo is a serious muscular condition which can have effects to other organs including kidneys and would required hospital admission.

Rhabdo: I have not heard of rhabdo from valtrex, (valacyclovir) . It is much more common with statins especially when they are combined with other medicines, specifically gemfibrizol. That being said, any side effect can occur in anyone.
