A member asked:

I had rhabdo in december 2017 from overexertion at gym. if i do a two or three hour hike, is it possible to get rhabdo from that??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rhabdomyolysis: It is possible to develop rhabdo after a long hike lasting hours due to breakdown of muscle tissue. People who have had rhabdo have a greater chance of developing it. Keep hydrated, listen to your body and avoid medications like Advil, etc which can affect kidney function. Dark urine and significant muscle pain are warnings.
