Pancreatitis: Variable depending on the cause and the severity. Range can be from a few days to several months. Most common causes in the us include gallstones and alcohol followed my medication. The cause needs to be corrected and the pancreas will more than likely heal itself over time. For biliary pancreatitis a cholecystectomy should be reccomended to prevent further attacks.
