We can help: This sounds like what my psychiatrist friends call "depersonalization" or "derealization". They're good at handling it and teaching you mental maneuvers to keep your brain from fooling you like this. Be very sure that whoever talks with you is reality-oriented rather than focused on fantasy, or things may get worse. You may also get a neuro work / eeg. Please do this for your baby's sake & yours.

Depression: Depression can cause feelings of hopelessness, as well as depersonalization and derealization. If you are nearer to the birth of your baby, you could be experiencing post-partum depression. For your sake and that of your baby, talk with your OB gyn, they work well with post-partum issues and see if you need a referral to a psychiatrist and psychologist for treatment.
