Usually not: Depends on many factors such as extent of disease, overall heart function and type of job but a cardiac stent dos not typically require retirement or disability.

No: Being treated with a stent for coronary disease (either angina or myocardial infarction) is a wake up call to change one's habits (quit smoking, eating healthier, exercising, losing weight) and take medications to control risk factors (hypertension, diabetes). Usually people can go back to their job 1-3 weeks after the procedure, depending if it was done electively or emergently.
