Ultrasound term: Ultrasound waves are formed in the ultrasound transducer applied to the body, and reflect from tissue interfaces that they pass through back to the same transducer.Echogenicity can be used to describe tissue in relation to another tissue, or as compared to its normal state, increased echogenicity can be caused by stones, air, etc.Decreased echogenicity can be related to fluid in cysts or abdomen.
