Family practice : You have a strained back or a pulled muscle. You get spasms they come on when its further strained. It's a protective mechanism to prevent further injury. Ice/heat intermittently , muscle relaxants, and antiinflamatories may be helpful. Physical therapy if it persists. X-ray or MRI if you have pain down your legs suggestive of a bulging disc.
