Loose stools and gas: This obviously seems to have happened suddenly. When to take him to the doctor depends on your comfort level of self treating with over the counter remedies such as pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) or medications for diarrhea. If the loose bowels and vomiting continue calling the doctor is advised. Sometimes the cause is self limited or related to medical or even surgical conditions that exist.
