Pinworms R: Intestinal parasites. Female emerges from anus at night & lays eggs on skin. Mebendazole kills the intestinal pinworms (& other intestinal worm parasites) but does not affect the eggs, sometimes 2nd treatment is required to eradicate worms. Fastidious hygiene is also important: wash hands thoroughly, wash underwear, bedding, towels where eggs may be. Worms typically not found elsewhere in body.

Confusing question: Since pinworms only live in the intestines the question is confusing. They can only find nourishment & survive within the gut. Outside the gut they die, Mebendazole is a neurotoxin & paralyzes their nervous system producing death.
