I don't think so: If essential oils were actually dangerous or had the same power as some of the powerful / dangerous supplements or most of the mainstream meds, aromatherapy would be dangerous as well and we'd be seeing people actually sick from it. I'm glad you're caring for your pregnancy as you should. I've asked a couple of my colleagues here for their input.

Hard to say. : By definition, "alternative" is different than modern western medicine. Generally any drug, herb, treatment, or oil that stands up to rigorous scientific scrutiny is included in modern medicine. Many alternative practices, oils etc do not stand up to scientific scrutiny and cannot be shown to work. 'Further, no one knows if they are safe. $$$. Check https://nccih.nih.gov/ for research
