BREAST FEEDING: Ginger root is not a problem with breast feeding. Instead of chewing, crush the root and boil it like tea. It is nutritional.

Yes: Yes, it is totally safe. What you eat may pass through your breast milk to your baby and may affect its flavor, but ginger-flavored breast milk might taste good and the bit of ginger-derived chemicals that may pass to your baby are likely beneficial for your baby!
