Cough: While cough is a common symptom of asthma, there are other reasons for cough. Assuming the inhaler technique is good (challenging for infants), other reasons for cough should be evaluated. Also, if there is difficulty administering inhaler, other options such as home nebulizers are available. Infants with recurrent respiratory symptoms should be evaluated by lung specialists.
