I have discomfort in my chest area for almost a week now, no position change helps, could it be anything serious, i have no family cardiac disease?

Not your heart.: Even if you had a family history of cardiac disease this is not likely related to any abnormality of blood flow to your heart. However, there are many other things it could be. You might do well to get a chest x ray to look at the lungs / heart/ lymph nodes and bone.
