Time works but...: Bleed usually resolves in a few days. Depends on what you have already tried. The first things are conservative including increasing fluid and fiber in diet to ensure that you bms are soft, losing weight, limiting the time sitting on the toilet. If still a problem you could try banding and finally excision/ligation. Surgery is really the only definitive treatment for this. See your primary md.

Local treatment: Treatment with hemorrhoidal cream and sitz baths (soaking in warm water a few times a day) will help if bleeding is minor. Also institute a diet high in fiber and add metamucil to regulate your bowels better. If bleeding is heavy and does not respond to conservative treatment, you should see a colorectal surgeon. Most often an office procedure with rubber band ligation of hemorrhoids will help.
