A member asked:

Is there a test that detects "reverse transcriptase" (not a specific virus) in humans?...just as a general test to rule-out certain kinds of viruses?

No: No. The reverse trancriptase is an enzyme that some viruses utilize during the infection, but by itself, does not cause any harm.

No, I don't think so: I have not seen a test like that for use in patients. Although, it could be being developed or used as a part of a research study.
