Very unlikely: Snoring can be annoying certainly, but as you suggest it can be a sign of some things such as obstruction of the airways, either nasopharynx (nose and back of throat), from the palate. Such obstruction can be caused by sleep apnea. Surgery is not commonly done unless extreme narrowing of the airway exists. Usually weight loss, addressing sinuses, and even opening the nose passages are first line.

Depends: Snoring can be caused by many things. If the cause is a deviated nasal septum, surgery is the best option. If the cause is sleep apnea, a CPAP machine can help prevent snoring by pressurizing your airway during the night. Consulting your physician can help you get to the bottom of your snoring and identify the cause. Only then can you decide upon the best treatment options.

May need testing: Some people will benefit from surgery for snoring but it is important to be sure you don't have a more serious problem called sleep apnea. This can be diagnosed with a careful medical evaluation and a sleep study. This information will be guide your proper treatment.
