Miscarriage : Miscarriages occur in 15-20% of all pregnancies and are usually genetic in cause. The genetic miscarriage is not due to anything that you may have done and is usually determined at the time of conception. These abnormalities happen by chance and may not occur in subsequent pregnancies.

A 40-year-old member asked:

How can I prevent inflammation of stomach lining due to blood thinner plavix (clopidogrel)?

Take with food: Do not take the medicine on an empty stomach and it sometimes is helpful to take medicines such as antacids that are used to treat gastritis. Many people can take Plavix (clopidogrel) without problems. Some of the medications can interfere with the action of the Plavix (clopidogrel) so consult your physician.

Rare but possible: The cold virus can be transferred to the eye from direct contact (touching an infected person or an object with the virus on it) or contact with airborne virus (from a sneeze or breath). See a doctor: Upper respiratory infections are usually caused by a virus and they are usually gone after 5-7 days. If symptoms are persisting for over 7 days its time to get an doctor's examination. Sometimes a viral URI will develop a secondary bacterial infection which will be relieved with prescription antibiotics. A doctor can also swab the throat and check for streptoccocal infection.

No: Not a wise combination. Can decrease the efficacy of Lisinopril and increase the incidence of kidney toxicity.

Had arthroscopic knee surgery 2 mos ago but fell 2 days ago, and painful swelling, could I have reinjured it?

Yes, but probably no: I tell all my patients how to protect their knees after surgery often with bracing and/or crutches. My guess is that most fall at some point in the early postoperative period. So you are in good company. It really spends on two things: what exact surgery was performed, and how bad was the fall? You should check with your surgeon to see how concerned he or she is. A quick check alleviates anxiety.
