No: There is no known effect of cannabis on causing kidney injury and proteinuria. However, one thing to keep in mind is that when you use street drugs, you do not really know everything that is in it - including contaminants like pesticides. The newer synthetic cannabis products (k2 and spice etc.) however have produced kidney damage and worse.
