A member asked:

Can an orthopaedic always tell if someone has been weight bearing excessively too soon ?

No: However, if weightbearing occurs too early then it may cause mail union or collapse of the fracture. In some cases, the fracture heals faster than expected and early weightbearing is tolerated. It is obviously better to follow your doctors advice.

See below: No.Not always . We rely on our patients to be trustworthy and compliant with the weight-bearing status as this would be in their own best interest to improve their healing and underlying condition . Compliance !!! Good Luck . Thank you
