No surgery: Though you are going into your second trimester surgery for hemorrhoids should be avoided as far as possible during pregnancy. Local treatment with hemorrhoidal cream, soaking in warm water and diet rich in fiber content should ease your symptoms.

To do's: It is important not to get hemorrhoids in the first place. Stay well hydrated (at least 8 - 8 oz glasses of water per day). Eat 5 vegetable & 4 fruit servings per day – get that fiber in. Avoid junk carbohydrates. Stay physically active. Sitz bathes can be helpful. Sit in a bathtub with enough warm water to submerge anal area. Soak for about 15 minutes – several times a day. Congratulations.
