Shoul i be concerned about bruising after acupuncture ? they are purple and blue and about 1 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch on my abdomen.

Bruising.: These should heal. However, it is not usual to have significant bruising after acupuncture treatments. If a person has a bleeding disorder or is on a blood thinning medication that can increase risk for bleeding or bruising. Were the insertions comfortable or uncomfortable? Bruising is usually the exception, not the norm. Take care.

Maybe.: If they are regular, generic bruises, they were caused by the needles piercing a small vein on their way in or out. But if they are tender to touch, or warm (or both), they could be focal infections, caused by use of dirty needles. In that case, see your doctor asap.
