One week ago i fell in my home and hit my left flank hard against a table. i am not in pain but my deep-red bruise has barely changed color since then. it's gotten a bit "streakier" but is still dark red with purple spots. could this be serious?

Everything you are: describing is completely consistent with the "evolution" of a BRUISE! Your "Flank" has the the strongest muscles in the human body ! Unless you have other symptoms/signs eg: blood in your urine....the healing will take time! Hope this is hepful! DR Z
