How old do i have to be to get my uterus removed so i don't have periods?

Having periods...: ....Has been a pain in the neck for women throughout history. Having your uterus removed is a drastic , and permanent, way to deal with something that only annoys you. You are 19 years old. You may not always feel as you do today. You might want children some day, even if you don't think you will ever want them now. Please seek counseling to find out why your feelings about this are so extreme.

Alternative tx: While there is really no age requirement, i believe you would be unable to find a gyn to perform an hysterectomy at your age. There are many wonderful treatment options to decrease or temporarily eliminate your menses. Talk to your gyn about the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud, oral contraceptives, Nexplanon and other alternatives. There are options other than hysterectomy. Good luck!
