No: If this is really a pilonidal cyst, it needs to be incised and drained and washed out. There are foreign objects inside the cyst (usually ingrown hairs) which are a nidus for infection. Creams will not treat this. You need to see a doctor who can properly diagnose the pilonidal cyst. Often they have complex pathways (tracks) which may require the services of a general surgeon.

Shave instead!: Topicals have not shown definitive improvement, but shaving the hair in the area has! keep the hair shaved to one inch away from the cyst, and some people find that no other treatment is needed.
