Yes in a way: Whichever name is given to it, there is definitely scientific evidence that cervical spine disease can cause symptoms such as pain that radiates to the cranium. This is because the trigeminal nerve ganglion, which serves sensory and pain functions of the face, runs all the way down to the upper parts of the cervical spine, allowing for referred pain.
