Pain management: Nsaids help. Usually for flare ups --- low dose steroids are suggested form of therapy too. See your rheumatologist.

Call Peds rheum doc : Your child may be having a flare of disease, not all flares can be seen as swelling, particularly by anyone not experienced in detecting joint swelling in kids.May need an increase of his/her meds or switch to other meds, or possibly a joint injection with steroids. Nsaids are worthless for controlling disease--at best a band-aid for pain that can indicate active disease. Call peds rheum doc now.
