Not directly: After surgery for gallbladder removal, your body changes. The liver may learn to make less bile, the bile duct will dilate slightly to hold some bile, the small bowel will learn to reabsorb the bile and return it back to the liver, etc. There is a medication Questran (cholestyramine) that can help absorb excess bile. Be careful with eating too much fatty foods.

Unfortunately no.: No. However, the reason you are probably having diarrhea is bile is constantly being introduced into the small intestine and not being completely reabsorbed before entering the large intestine. This causes irritation of the right colon and thus diarrhea. You can bind the bile by taking metamucil and thus decrease the irritation.
