The tampon can put: Pressure on full bladder, & also on urethra and sphincter (muscle that controls urination). Child bearing/age/declining estrogen levels, can weaken muscle. Some ideas- urinate before you feel urge, or go on a 2-3 hr schedule. Practice starting & stopping stream., do kegel exercises. Watch vit c, caffeine, soda intake. Drink plenty of water to dilute urine. Try diff tampon. Make sure fully inserte.

Pressure: It could be putting pressure on bladder increasing urgency or lifting a fallen bladder and unkinking the urethra.
