Laser: Laser treatments are expensive due to the cost of the equipment the doctor has to purchase it and no insurance covers it. Hopefully with all the data collected the insurance companies will eventually cover it.

Laser: I am not sure how you define outrageous. It is - at present - not a covered service by insurance companies. In my office i charge 75 to 95 per nail and it is a one time treatment with the 3 and 6 months followup included in the fee. If any area is missed or needs a retreat , that is also included. I hope that helps a bit - it does work though ! good luck.

Equipment: Treating onychomycosis with laser requires specialized equipment that is very expensive. Additionally it requires nearly one hour of the doctors time to perform the procedure properly treating all ten toes.
