There are multiple : In my opinion and personal experience laser treatment has proven to be very effective with no adverse reactions. However, the classic treatment of choice is probably terbinafine tablets for 3 months under direct medical supervision.

Toenail fungus: There are a slew of side effects with Lamisil (terbinafine) that include liver and bone marrow side effects. You need monthly blood tests to monitor this with lamisil (terbinafine). Then there is the cost - not usually covered by insurance - at around 300 per month. There are topicals the work sometimes, nail removal and the newest is laser treatment - all without pills.
