My 2 cents: Typically at one year most patients report little or no pain with good function. Motion at this point is typically as much as you are going to expect. You should not have redness or swelling or feelings of instability as these can be signs of something awry. You can expect the occasional muscle ache as with a normal knee. If a early failure occurs it is usually seen in the first 2 years.
