A member asked:

What is pleuro-pulmonary process , nerve pain from the intercostal nerves?

Medical terminology: Pulmonary refers to the structures necessary for breathing, including the lungs. The lungs are encased in two layers of thin tissue called the pleura. When the latter is inflamed it can produce pain on inspiration. The nerves between the ribs may react to pleural inflammation or may be damaged on their own and produce pain. You need to discuss this with the doctor treating you.
