Not usually: Most women do not notice an increase in appetite with oral contraceptives. Moreover, weight gain or loss with oral contraceptives is typically 1-3 lbs. With depo-provera "the shot", a 20 lb weight gain is not unusual, nor is hair loss, depressed mood. Many women can tolerate depo-provera without unpleasant side effects, and can benefit from amenorrhea (sometimes after many months of spotting).

Slightly: Some women respond to north control pills with slight appetite increases.
