Cataract: The patient's age doesn't matter. Cataracts can occur in babies, children and adults. What matters most is how the cataract is affecting vision and if it is to the point that the blurred vision is interfering with the ability to do visually dependent activities like reading or driving a car.

No age limit: Cataracts are removed when this opacity of the lense interfering with vision, becomes sufficiently dense that it is felt that visual improvement would result. Since cataracts can occur at any age, although much more common in the elderly, there is no age limit to this surgery and it is done whenever the ophthalmologists and patient agree on the need for improvement.
