At least two months: Sun exposure should be avoided at least two months before and after laser hair removal. There is evidence that after laser treatment there should be no sun exposure at all because there is still a possibility of skin becoming blotchy even months afterwards. Avoid sun exposure between 10 am and 4 pm and use a broad spectrum high spf sunscreen.

Rest of your life!: Honest, ultraviolet causes wrinkles, sunspots, premature loss of skin tone and elasticity, not to mention skin cancers, some of them fatal. Do you really think any caring doctor will "approve" of tanning? But if you tan while the hair removal areas are pink or inflamed, you could also end up with permanent discoloration or hyperpigmentation. Can you say "5 o'clock shadow" where hair used to be?
