No: Intentional weight loss on a planned program like that is just fine. Two pounds per week for 6 months -- is just about right. I am a vegetarian (ovo-lacto), and I do not suffer. Make sure you still get enough protein, with soy, lentils, nuts, etc. No sure if you are off eggs and milk too -- which are major sources of protein. Great job!

How do you feel?: Vegans lose weight because their food doesn't taste as good. It is a moral high ground and is safe if and only if you know exactly what you are doing and supplement as you must. Actual health benefits of vegetarianism continue to elude mainstream science including powerful studies. Worry if and only if you're not able to keep up with physical exercise at your new weight.
