Yes and no: I would not say it is normal, but rather it can be seen with the type of injury you are describing. A bruise to the bone can cause localized soft tissue swelling in the area in which the nerves pass. This may cause a radiating pain, numbness or pins and needle sensation in the ankle and foot. Numbness: Numbness to feet and ankle is not normal. With the injury you may have injured a nerve as well which could cause the numbness. If it continues consult your doctor.
