Recurrent Boils: It is not uncommon to get recurrent boils. One can be colonized with bacteria that causes boils or have immune problems that lead to recurrent boils. A dermatologist, primary care doctor, or infectious disease specialist should be able to help. Hidradenitis suppurativa, an inflammatory condition affecting the armpits and groin, can often be misdiagnosed as boils.
